Senco PC1010 Compressor, 1-Horsepower (PEAK), 1 Gallon

Cheap, Great little compressor, Bought Senco PC1010 because it was lightweight but still powerful enough for small trim and cabinet jobs. At less than one third the weight of my dual tank hotdog compressor the PC1010 is easy to carry up several flights of stairs. These old legs appreciate its’ lightweight (20 lbs). It is outstanding for small trim & cabinet jobs. If you are doing rough framing or roofing all day long this is not the compressor for you. It can drive twenty 18 gauge brads (PC brad gun) or eight 15 gauge finish nails (N60FN finish nail gun) before the compressor cycles on. If you run your guns below the compressor turn on pressure (95 psi) the last nail / brad sets the same as the first. Only takes 30 to 35 seconds to come back up to full cutoff pressure (125 psi).

The PC1010 is also very quite. With some other compressors you need hearing protection unless you put the compressor in another room

Campbell Hausfeld MP5200 25-Piece Accessory Kit with Case

Cheap, Great value. Very pleased., I am very pleased with Campbell Hausfeld MP5200 Kit. For the price, I think it’s absolutely worth it. You get all the accessories you would need to compliment a newly purchased air compressor (aside from the hose of course) as well as all of the fittings you need to attach them. They even give you the plumber’s tape for sealing the threads.

There are essentially 4 tools in this kit. The air gun, 2 tire inflators and a pressure gauge. With the air gun, you can attach any of the included nozzles such as an air pin for filling basketballs or footballs or 2 different other nozzles for various applications. One of the nozzles has a rubber end on it.

In addition to the tools, you get a bunch of male connectors (2 with female threading and 4 with male threading) and one female locking connector. Your compressor should already have a female connector on it, so you should only need one female connector for the business end of the hose anyway. The rest of the male connectors you can use for the various tools. After using the male connectors for all the included tools and a hose, I have one male left that has female threading. I wish I had another female too, but what’re you gonna do? There are a few other connectors as well that I’m not sure what they do.

The entire package is completed by the case that you get. It keeps all of the tools nicely organized in a clear plastic case that resembles something you’d keep fishing lures in.

In all, the tools are of acceptable quality with exception of the pressure gauge. The pressure gauge is one of those that you would see in a coffee tin at the register in Pep Boys going for 79 cents. It’s made from chrome plastic and I have doubts about it’s accuracy, but at least it looks like it’s working.

So, the only way I could see to improve this at the current price is to include another female locking hose connector. Otherwise, I think it’s an excellent value and I’m very pleased — even with the crappy pressure gauge. Considering a combination pressure gauge + tire inflator tool runs around $40, this kit is an excellent deal to make your new compressor purchase useful.

Ingersoll-Rand 231C 1/2-Inch Super Duty Air Impact Wrench

Cheap, Powerfull Impact, The first thing I do with any new tool is to grasp a full understanding of maintenance and care before using. The many professionals who rave about the 231C are right about quality, durability and price. Here are a few things I discovered that are not mentioned. The Product Information manual is a runt. Inside the front cover is a small diagram, less than 2 inches square, showing the tool and all lubrication points using tiny icons which I found to be somewhat confusing. So I contacted IR customer service for clarification. What a surprisingly courteous and helpful reply I received. They were great and answered every question I had. I’ve used impact wrenches all of my life. The 231C is a prize and I wanted to treat it right. Here’s what I learned. Complete lubrication of the 231C is done at the factory. Since the owner’s manual also covers the 231H and the 244A, the one diagram shows the lube points for all models. There is only one grease port on the back of the 231C. Add grease after 40 hours of use. If you do not have an in-line lubricator on your pressure hose, add 3 drops of oil/air tool lubricant to the air intake port every 6 to 8 hours or daily. That’s all. IR offers an Impact Wrench Care Kit and it is sold by Amazon.Com. It includes the grease gun,heavy duty impact wrench grease (105-4T) and air tool lubricant (10Z4) . If you want the best, deserve the best, buy the best.
