We run two humidifiers all year round here–it’s dry in the desert–and these filters are MUCH better than the reg ones. It’s worth a little more to get these. That blue stuff on the outside helps them last longer and filter the air better.
I don’t even know why they still make the non-airwashing filters. These Honeywell HAC-504 Replacement Filter for Honeywell Humidifiers really do take a lot of the dust out the air, but more importantly these filters holdup a lot longer than the HONEYWELL/ENVIRACAIRE HAC-504 Replacement Filter Pad ones do, and they really aren’t that much more expensive. These filters are mislisted though, their real part number is HAC-504AW, the “AW” is for “Air Washing”, because for the blue layer of filter material.
As with the other reviewer, I had trouble finding this filter in stores. This filter works perfectly with my humidifier. I received it in a timely fashion with no damage to the box or filter. Definitely will continue ordering this item from Amazon!
